Vendor Biography
A camera hobbyist from an early age, I followed the trends from analogue photography and black and white darkroom to digital photography and more recently Cyanotype Printing. The Cyanotype Process was discovered in 1842 by English Scientist John Herschel. It is a monochrome photographic process that produces a copy of the original in a Prussian Blue colour called a blueprint. The process requires a chemically coated substrate which is sensitised by exposure to a UV light source.
I am delighted to practice this process which is experiencing a new popularity. It reflects my primary artistic love of photography and allows me to produce blueprints of nature. My garden has become my studio with planting chosen for its art printing potential.
I live in Blessington Co Wicklow, and have been an active member of Cruthú West Wicklow Art Group for 15 years. I exhibit my work in group exhibitions from time to time with Cruthú.
